KELLY BUSH, FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
As its CEO, Kelly Bush oversees all aspects of ID's business and provides strategic direction for the talent and brand departments. In less than fifteen years, Kelly has led ID to become the "intersection of entertainment public relations and brand communications," with offices in Los Angeles, New York, and most recently London, and over 400 clients represented by more than 60 dedicated employees. ID's client list reads like a "who's who" of exceptional people, companies and brands.
In 1993, with only two years experience in the business, Kelly took the unusual step of starting her own agency- against the better judgment of everyone she met in Hollywood. From a spare bedroom in her apartment, she launched Kelly Bush Public Relations whose only assets included two clients no one had heard of and a few office supplies from Staples. Kelly's first major client was acclaimed actor Patrick Stewart, who is still represented by Bush today.
"Representing Patrick taught me how to land quality press based on a client's work, rather than what was going on in their personal lives," said Bush. "I wanted my agency to be trademarked by representing individuals who are the best in their respective field."
Kelly represented her longtime clients Tobey Maguire and Ben Stiller from early on in their careers, as they successfully transitioned from smart independent films to starring in some of the highest-grossing movies of all time. As her phone began to ring from prominent entertainment personalities who were impressed by the strategic press campaigns implemented on behalf of her clients, now including Dustin Hoffman, Diane Lane, Javier Bardem and Alicia Keys, Kelly also attracted some of the most talented publicists in the business to the agency.
The agency since emerged as one of the industry's leading independently owned and operated public relations firms and was renamed, ID. In 2006, Kelly led the company into the foray of brand representation with clients including Tiffany & Co. and Starbucks Entertainment.
"I was fascinated by this concept of identity, or ID," said Bush. "Not only in shaping and promoting a person's or a brands' ID, but in creating a company where people can grow in their work, create their professional identity, and thrive in the pursuit of their dreams."
In 2008, Kelly started VIE Entertainment where she became manager to Paul Reubens and Academy-award nominated actress, Ellen Page.
