MARA BUXBAUM, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Mara Buxbaum is one of the entertainment industry's most well respected publicists, representing many of Hollywood's leading actors and filmmakers, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Kline, Sean Penn, Christopher Walken, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Robin Williams, and the late Heath Ledger, each of whom is an Academy-Award winner or nominee.
In addition to her continued work with many of Hollywood's most inveterate talent, Mara is also heavily invested in ID’s Film, Brand and Digital Strategies departments, where she oversees a broad and diverse array of clients ranging from filmmaker Michael Mann to entrepreneur Sean Parker to the non-profit J/P Haitian Relief Organization. On the film side, Mara works closely with acclaimed producers such as Bill Pohlad of River Road Entertainment (The Tree of Life) and Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment (The Dark Knight) on strategic publicity campaigns for their production companies and film slate.
Mara founded ID's New York Office in 1999. Less than two years later, under her guidance and leadership, Mara helped grow the office to more than fifteen employees. Prior to joining ID, Mara was a senior executive at PMK Public Relations where she worked with noted stars such as Michelle Pfeiffer, Christina Ricci, and Winona Ryder, many of whom followed her from PMK to ID. She also helped run the publicity campaigns for several major films, directed by the likes of Robert Redford, Robert Altman, and Louis Malle. Previously, she worked as a senior publicist at Columbia Pictures on films such as Martin Scorcese's The Age of Innocence, Harold Ramis's Groundhog Day, and Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi.
Mara began her career under the tutelage of Lois Smith, one of the industry's most admired and well respected publicists.
